HOW IT WORKS

Start from a train station anywhere in Switzerland

A feature everyone liked in our first editions is the possibility to choose where you want to depart from.

All you have to do is decide for a train station anywhere in Switzerland and turn on your GPS device at 10:10am on September 6th 2023.

And don’t forget the traditional picture of you and your bike, ideally  showing the train station’s clock and hit the road!

Self-Supported

Yes, it means no outside assistance, no sleeping at home or at friend's houses and being able to deal with your mechanical issues as well as looking after yourself.

Checkpoints

This year our CPs represent our 5 neighbouring countries. Switzerland has a little known peculiarity: there are two enclaves for two countries: Germany and Italy. These two enclaves are naturally two of our CPs. The other 3 are original bridges that make borders with our other neighbouring countries.

Your Ride

Only a non-assisted bike propelled by your own legs is allowed.

Pairs are allowed to draft, others, unfortunately, will have to be very aero.
The entire route has to remain within Switzerland, no border crossing allowed (except for the strict foreign territory of the 2 enclaves-CP only).
Attention: No passage abroad even next to the enclaves allowed! (only INSIDE the Enclave-CP is allowed) and, of course, it is forbidden to ride on roads where bicycles are not allowed...

direction
Your Route

It is entirely up to you as to which starting point you opt for and how you define the best route. Some are better at climbing, others faster on flat roads.

This year, you will have to cross our 2 foreign enclaves (which are 2 of the 5 CPs) as well as 24 cantons of your choice, so that we are correct in our maths... 24+2=26 !!

And all this, of course, before Sunday 10 September, noon 😉
